Multiple completed trials in people, published, with results that hold up across more than one program. Very few compounds in this category reach it.

phase 2 or 3 underway
A genuine trial program exists and some of it has read out, but the answer is not settled or the trials tested something other than the marketed use.
GRADE C
studied, but not for this
People have been studied, but for a different condition or by a different route than the one it is sold for. Common, and the easiest grade to misread.
GRADE D
no completed human trial
Rodent studies, case reports, forum accounts. Sometimes a lot of rodent studies. It is still not evidence that something works in a person.

Zero. The single best-selling compound in this category has never completed a published trial in people. Two are registered: one phase 1 from 2015 whose status is unknown, and one phase 2 now recruiting. Everything sold today rests on animal studies and forum reports. Sites that quietly leave that out are how a reader ends up believing the opposite.
